Claims
When the unexpected happens, we’re with you.
A claim is the moment an insurance policy proves its worth. As your broker, we handle the insurer on your behalf, tell you exactly what’s needed, and push for a fair, timely settlement.
The claims journey
Five steps from incident to settlement.
-
01
Make it safe
Protect people and property first. Call emergency services if anyone is hurt, and take reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage.
-
02
Report to the police
For road accidents, theft, burglary and malicious damage, report to the police and keep the report or reference number.
-
03
Tell us promptly
Contact us as soon as you can. Most policies require prompt notification, and early contact makes everything smoother.
-
04
Gather documents
We’ll send you the right claim form and a clear list of supporting documents. Photographs and quotations help.
-
05
We follow through
We lodge your claim, liaise with assessors and the insurer, and keep pushing until you are fairly settled.
Be prepared
What you’ll usually need.
Every insurer and policy is slightly different, so we’ll confirm the exact requirements for your claim. These are the documents most commonly requested.
Please don’t admit liability, agree to settle with a third party, or start non-emergency repairs before speaking to us — it could affect your claim.

Why it matters
An advocate on your side of the table.
When you deal directly with an insurer at claim time, you are negotiating with the party that pays. When you have a broker, you have a professional who knows the policy wording, understands how claims are assessed, and works for you.
We check that the insurer’s response is consistent with your cover, challenge decisions that seem unfair, and escalate where needed. Our 2024 HOBAZ award for Best Claims Ratio reflects the care we take in placing the right risks with the right insurers — which is the foundation of smooth claims.
